View Full Version : AutoMeter Fuel Gauge

Has anyone used the Autometer fuel gauge to install in the AutoMeter Camaro console pod?
Do the ohms match close enough to the stock sender unit to be a direct swap?

Just ordered the pod and gauges. Probably should have asked this question first!

Thanks

Close enough?...The stock GM sending unit is 0-90 ohms....You have to match the fuel guage to that resistance range...
0 ohms=Empty 90 ohms=Full

Thanks. It sounds like it's close enough to work. I guess I'll find out soon.

Joe, it should work perfectly, I have a 2-5/8" Autometer gauge installed appart in the dash (my car doesn' have dash gauges) and it works right. Just swivels a little bit as the fuel moves inside the taks. Now this one is going to be replaced by 2-1/16" gauge on the console pod.

Joe, I have the Autometer pod in the '68 & I hooked it up from the original (M&H) fuel tank sending unit. Works just fine.
