This is a silly question, but if I don't ask....I am removing the old carpet out of my 67. The seat belts are the deluxe style with a plastic cover that goes over the bolt and is attached under the belt end some how. (no belt slack winder at the bolt base) How do you remove the bolt without ripping the cover off? This is my 6th Camaro and I have put new carpets in all of them, but have never had these kind of belts, or was too young to care. Thanks!

Hopefully the covers are still a little pliable. You have to pry them back and you can feed a little of the belt to give you a little more working room. You can get a socket on them. If the plastic is very dry you find it very difficult to remove them without damage. I removed a pair from a donor car in a boneyard and they were pretty hard but I took my time and got them out without damage. Good luck

Ya, i did the same, just pull the cover back a bit to get the socket in.
