I am having the same problem. I have a 67 camaro convertable with the yellow interior. I purchased full set of seat covers from Classic Industries back in 1988 and covers are still in the box.I haven't seen anything in that color since. I am still looking for door panels. I hope there will be some helpful responses to our problem.

Rowt,

Bummer.... want to sell your seat covers?!? smile.gif just kidding. I talked to a friend today that does upholstry work and he said I wouldn't be happy with a dye job because it stiffens the vinyl. he also said it would end up cracking if you sat on it alot. But he said it would work ok for the trim panels. maybe you could buy the parchment panels and dye them yellow. Thanks for the response.

First of all, I have black interior, so I don't have any experience trying to match/obtain non-black interior components. But ...

1) I have read several threads about people with non-black interiors trying to restore certain components. Most restoration parts are only in black with a few also offered in the most common non-black colors (e.g., red). So, many of the people said that they had to paint or otherwise color the black parts to the correct color.

2) I have seen pictures of at least two cars with yellow/butternut yellow interiors. I cannot remember the owners. However, if you could find someone with the interiors, they may be able to help you with your restoration effort.

It sounds as if you've already consulted an upholstery expert. Dye sounds bad, can he order some custom vinyl/material that could be made into your seat covers?

Good Luck.

K.A.,

I'm sure anything is possible as far as custom making the interior. The guy I talked to said the accent stripe would be tough. (that probably just means more cash-to-palm would be necessary

I did read that the reproduction interior had a black stripe while the original has a gold stripe. -Can anyone confirm this?

The interior in mine is badly molded and faded. I can tell the accent stripe was definately not black but I can't tell what parts were yellow. (i.e... backs of the bucket seats, A-pillar trim, door panels????)I would like to look at one (car) to see whats there.

Thanks to all for the help!!
