I've got a '67 with a deluxe interior. I discovered that my driver side window wasn't rolling up correctly due to a missing roller on the latch end. Same goes for my passenger side quarter window. It's missing the center roller.

I found the roller for the quarter window but had trouble yesterday trying to put it in the track. I'll have to buy a new roller for the driver window.

Anyone have experience replacing these rollers? How do you get them back in the tracks?

Scooby Doo,
the way i did mine was to leave the track unbolted inside and slide the 1/4 glass onto the track, then bolt everything up together. also would be a good idea to mark the positon of the bolts first with awl or something. hope this helps, Sonny

Well, I got my 1/4 window rolling up correctly now. I ended up having to take the regulator out so I could press the plastic wheel back on the stud.

As for the front window, I'll save that for another day. I think it will end up being more difficult.

As for the rear qquarter windows. If they still have the rollers but are tuff to roll, try spraying some white lithium grease on them, It works like magic.

Actually, I used WD-40 to ease the rolling. As for the rollers, you can buy a rivit & roller kit from one of the catalogs.

I had to order one for my front window. I am waiting to get it to tackle the front window. I was told you have to drill the old rivit out. We'll see.

The WD40 will free (and clean) them up, but the lithium greese that gldn slmbr mentioned will last longer.

Does white lithium grease come as a spray? I've never seen it that way.
I was thinking of using some sray silicone down the window track to free it up a bit.
They are a bit sticky and don't roll down all the way. They stop about 3" form the bottom.
If that doesn't work then I guess it's diassembly time.

Yes, the lithium grease comes in a spray can with a little red straw, too. You might find it at Marine hardware and boating stores. I bought mine thru an industrial supplier.

My quarter windows were so bad there was no wa to roll them up without pulling them at the top.
Its been almost a year and they roll up and down like new.

WalMart has the lithium grease in a spray can too. Very handy!

Thanks! WalMart is a lot closer than West Marine.

Well, I got my replacement wheel but it was for the track that is side-to-side on the regulator. This is not the one that was causing me problems.

I did end up finding the original wheel still laying in the vertical track. This is the wheel that actually is on the window not on the regulator.

I set the rivit back in the wheel, window rolls down great. Raised the window, and just before it gets to the top, the rivit pops out of the wheel. I am not aware of a reproduction replacement. Any suggestions?
