Trying to find help in OKC is an excerise in frustration. I recenlty purchased my first ever 67 SS. The drivers seats seems to have been recently recovered. Looks nice. The springs on the butt end are bad and you lean to one side. Do I need to replace the bottom springs as well as the foam? Any help would be appreciated.

If there are broken springs, they can be repaired with a kit. Seat foam (Buns) are also available. Sounds like you need em. Seat foams are about $60 per seat.

Talk to Tony at Classic Chevy in South OKC. He can fix you up.

Might as well fix it right while it's apart.

I bet the side support spring is broken. You can buy it individually for like $7.00 from most of the catellogs. We replaced the bottom seat springs $70.00, the seat buns $60.00 (I think) and the upholstery ~ $50.00 per seat. The seat is so nice it is unnerving! I never knew how springy and high they sat! It is really different, but it feels good to have redone it. The upholstery on the bottoms is easy to remove and once you have it off you will know all you need to know. If the bun isn't dry and flakey you may not need a new one. If the springs are only broken on that side you may only need to replace that one part. I would just remove the bottom seat upholstery from around the outside edge and take a look around before I cut any hog rings. Good luck! Email me if you have specific Q's. I may be able to help. Take care ~ John
