I'm looking for a supplier that has hassle free Deluxe interior door panels. All the posts on this subject claim the plastic lip at the top is nothing but trouble. If I have to spend this kind of money, I hope to get something close to original as possible.
Thanks, Dan

Hum... I think there's only one manufacture of the Deluxe Door Panels. I've just installed a set and the fit and finish is very very nice. The only issue was that I had to install the inner fuzzy thingie... but I pop riveted in on and it looks fine.
Other details are the the lock ferral (sp?) and door handle cut out that has to be made. Easy enough through. The only part that I'm not happy with is the Door Handle "CUP"... looks and fits like poop http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

I've also heard there is only one source for deluxe door panels. I installed a set in my 67 and they look great. The only difference with them is that since they are backed with plastic versus the original cardboard they tend to be thicker at the edges, therefore they are a tight squeeze into the upper trim piece. I just expanded the trim piece a little and trimmed (be very careful) a little off the panel so it would slide in. Mine also tended to bow a little towards the inside of the car so it was critical to get them screwed in good along the bottom. They tend to flatten over time, as having the doors shut flattens the edges.
My door cups worked fine.

I also just installed deluxe door panels. Had a lot of trouble getting them to fit my 68 Camaro. I called the supplier and they recommended using a heat gun to bend the top of the panel where the metal top plate meets the plastic. I heated the plastic just below the metal and stood the panel upside down on a table and pressed down on the panel to increase the curvature at the top of the panel. Now the window fuzzy touches the glass all the way along the top of the panel just like it should. The gun I used was set for 400 degrees F and took about 15 minutes to heat it up enough to bend. I also had to trim out the plastic a little where the anti-rattle fuzzy holder was touching the back of the panel and had to relocate a few of the door clips by elongating the slots. It took a while but the installation looks great! Good luck.

My 67 Parchment Deluxe door panels came straight from Al Knoch interiors. I heard they don't do Camaro anymore but I don't think it's true. I know they are big in the Vette world. Fit great. Correct about being a little thick. Tom..I think their in El Paso
