I will be using jute original style sound deadner on my 68 Camaro, but is there something else I can use on the floor to reduce the sound a little bit more?

Plent of posts in the archives on this. The original jute padding doesn't do a whole heck of a lot to reduce interior sound levels.

Before I put my new (original type) padding in, I sprayed some 'rubberized' undercoating on the floors. This also seals the flooring.

Go take a look at this site!
http://www.b-quiet.com

This is the stuff that all the kids in the Hondas use to get more sound pressure out of their 5,000,000 watt stereos if they're not as loud as they'd like!! http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

I bought Brown Bread from B-quiet.com. It rates better than dynamat extreme and is half the price. The car sounds much quieter.

I also used B-Quiet products. Brown Bread and V-Comp. I am very happy with it. There two types of 3M spray adhesive. Use the heavy duty stuff for V-Comp.

How much of the Brown Bread is required? I have a 68 'vert that I would like to add it to.

I bought 75 square feet. I cover the entire floor and all the way up the firewall. I only used about 2/3 of it. The roll cost $150.00. I am going to do the doors and rear package tray also.

Cascade Audio Systems has all your sound deading needs.

I sprayed a thick rubber like material (dries hard) from one end of my '69 vert to the other,... ie floors, trunk, etc.

The used thier Dynomat type material on the doors, both inside and outside the shell.
When I close my doors now, it almost is as quiet as a new luxury vehicle,... not as quiet but close.

Saw some sound deadener today made by Ever-Coat. A 6 pack of 12"x12" sheets was $21. It was adhesive backed and pretty darn heavy for the size of the pack. It was at a body shop supply. This looked pretty cost efficient to me, I might give it a try when I get that for along.
My 2 cents,
Guy

As said before in the "Insulation - Anybody try this?" post, Joe G said
quote:
I would first make sure it dosen't "hold" moisture. We all know what that will do!
I once tried some of the foil-backed sound insulation they sell at the auto stores (and car shows). Held water like a sponge

Is this true with (some/all) B-quiet products? And if so, what are some alternatives? Or how could you fix the problem

Mike

I like the idea of the Cascade Audio stuff. No way for that to trap moisture.
