Just purchased an original black dash pad. How do I prevent it from cracking? Is there any product that can be used to keep it soft and flexible?

Lots of shade? For some reason the black dashes seem to be the only color that survives.

You might want to protect it with baby oil. Baby oil is a good moisturizer. I had a guy at the upholstery shop where I had my dash re-covered several years ago suggested this to me. Works good!
BTW, lots of shade is an excellent suggestion. The sun, especially here in Texas, loves to eat up(dry out) black vinyl anything.

Good idea I will try this on my old brittle dash first and see if it softens that up. Thanks
