: 1968 deluxe seats with head rests?
toyboy Jan 18th, 04, 04:24 PM I have had a set of these in storage for years... I recently listed them on ebay and have been emailed by so many people with questions on them... 1 are they from a 69? 2 Did 68 have headrests?... I know they came with them I own them..... My question is are they that rare?..they are in pretty good shape... should I pull them off ebay?... get them out on different boards for someone really looking to complete a project? What a mess thanks for your time and thoughts.... Tom
cavemanmoron Jan 18th, 04, 04:30 PM link to pics?
headrests are standard on 1969 cars, optional on 68's
the vinyl looks different on both.{the seat covers}
jackr Jan 18th, 04, 04:31 PM Headrests were an option. I had a 67 with the headrests on deluxe buckets. Are they rare ? I haven't seen a headrest 67-68 car in a long time.

bertfam Jan 18th, 04, 04:59 PM Tom,
If any of your bidders have questions, you can send them to my Headrest Page (http://home.pcmagic.net/bertfam/headrest.htm).
Your headrests should match my 68 pictures by the way. Check your slider bar and escutchions against what I have posted...

toyboy Jan 18th, 04, 05:08 PM Thanks to you all These are the real deal your page was great Thanks Ed...what are these things worth? I put them on ebay with a super low reserve no thinking it was a big deal... I chose not to use them in my 67 since my car was so untouched.. Thanks again to all Tom
bertfam Jan 18th, 04, 05:20 PM Tom,
Well, just as with everything, they're only worth what the highest bidder is willing to spend!!
In my case, I got a set of headrest seats for $100.00 a few years ago. But I was VERY LUCKY!!
I've seen these go on ebay before, for upwards of a grand!! But mostly it depends on condition and how bad someone wants them. As Caveman said, only 2,234 cars came with them. That's only about one percent of the total production for that year! One of the rarest options for 1968.
I wouldn't worry about your low reserve. On ebay, that means nothing!! ESPECIALLY when it comes to first generation Camaro parts!! You'll get more than what they're worth, believe me...

The same seats in my car. Great info Ed. You might want to forward it to Classic industries to enlighten them. They say 67 and 68 didn't have headrests. Todd

3SuperSports Jan 21st, 04, 04:37 AM Those are also the seats for a deluxe interior. Right? Does anybody have a '68 with standard interior and headrests?
My wifes car has some, but I'm not sure that they're original. I'm pretty sure they're not original to the car, but I haven't seen them on any other car that I can remember either.

Steve's68RS Jan 21st, 04, 05:51 AM Our 68RS 327 convt. L2 with 719 deluxe interior has headrest, and we've had the car since 73 and bought from origianl owner.
True, the material on the headrest is different and slightly different fade rate than the seats.
anyone want a photo, email me since I don't know how to post them here.

bertfam Jan 21st, 04, 06:11 AM David,
The headrests were available in either the standard or deluxe interiors. To verify your headrests, check your slider bar against the one on my home page (posted above). The 68 and 69 headrests are too similar to tell from looking at the rest itself. You have to look at the slider...

DTB Jan 24th, 04, 05:10 PM Way to go Tom. Just think, it will cost another $700 for seat foam, upholstery and installation. But they are so nice. Todd
