Does the upper clutch rod rubber boot install on the engine side or install from the passanger side with the boot sticking through the hole? drdave69 Mar 21st, 03, 02:32 AM It installs on the engine side with two sheet metal screws. smits67 Mar 21st, 03, 05:07 AM Thank you. Chris RickD Mar 21st, 03, 05:41 AM I also used a dremel to slightly enlarge the boot hole so the rod would easily slide. Else, it was contributing alot of stiction to the clutch action. This was a repro boot and would have torn otherwise after not too long. 69X11SS Mar 21st, 03, 11:33 AM You could rub a little silicone lube on the clutch shaft so you don't have to enlarge the hole. The boot is actually supposed to remain in one location on the shaft and expand and collapse when the clutch is used.
