I bought an old 3 inch Sun tach, and wanted to mount it like Yenko did with the Stewart Warner tach on the steering column. Wasn't it mounted in a 10o'clock position on the drivers door side of the column, rather then straight up noon? My car is a 1969. Thanks for any help.

10:00 sounds right to me. 12:00 will be a very tight fit. I think that yenko mounted the tach to the dash, not the column.
