Thanks 169indy Jan 15th, 02, 06:06 PM Two disclaimers 1) I have never actually tried this 2) Source of information is: November/December 2000 Camaro world Mag article on page 6 & 7. "Fix that sticky retractor" Step one)Remove the culprits from the car, look closely they are marked Left and right. Step two)Pull the seat belt out to its limit with one hand. At this point, you can see the date tag and gold Cad plating of the roller. While firmly grasping with your other hand, pull steadily and firm. They will seperate. Feed the anchor as needed up the body of the retactor. After painting ,,use a "fish tape" (rope or nylon cord) to feed & pull the anchor back down into the case. Credit Ian Johnston on the article good luck hope this helps Jim mikestr Jan 16th, 02, 09:45 AM Thanks! Unreal Jan 18th, 02, 11:43 AM You might also consider an extra turn or two on the spring. After 30 years, my springs wouldn't retract the belt all the way. Just loosen the bolt on the end, crank the barrel a little, and tighten the bolt back. mikestr Jan 18th, 02, 02:58 PM <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Unreal: You might also consider an extra turn or two on the spring.
