Put your key in and turn to ACC, then put a paperclip or something small in the little hole next to the key ( you will know when you see it )and push in. You will feel it push a catch inside then turn your key all the way to the left ( I believe ) and it should come out. Then you can remove the bezel etc. The assembly manual describes this better.

CA420 has it right. I butchered one before I figured it out....if I only would have found this site sooner.

How about if you don't have the original ignition key? Do I have to have one made so I can change the lock cylinder?

If you had one made why would you need to change it? Maybe a lock smith could get it to turn for you so you can change it out and even rekey it for you if you want.

I know, sounds silly to have a key made so I can change the lock for a new key. But the thing is-- I had to buy locks for the doors and trunk anyway because they were missing.
