Does anyone know if the thickness of the rim is different between the spoke rosewood wheel and the 3 spoke comfort grip wheel? I;ve got a comfort grip on my car now and it feels so small. I

can't get a hold of a roose wood wheel to do a side by side comparison so I'm asking you guys for help.

Thanks

I've got both. You are right, the comfort grip does seem small. I will have to get the rosewood out and to a side by side compare.

Both original rosewood and repro comfort grip are the same diameter - 2 3/4 inches. Just gotta get used to it. :D

Kevin,

I thought there was something different between these 2 wheels. Isn't the Outside Diameter different between the Rosewood and Confort Grip wheels. I could of swore something was smaller as they feel quite different other than materials? Thought the Rosewood was a bigger wheel in OD.

The '69 N34 wheels (walnut & rosewood) are 16" diameter; the cushioned-rim (not "comfort-grip") is described in Chevy docs as 15" diameter.

2 3/4"?? Is that the circumference maybe?

If sao it works out to be about what mine is I guess.

Tje bottom line is that they are the same, so I'll keep my comfort grip and look for a leather wrap tho install on it.

THANKS!!

You're right circumference (thickness) of rim.

I met a "reader only" guy last Friday night at the Merrimack cruise night. I asked if I could hop into his very nice Z28 and check out the feel of the Rosewood. He said sure. (Nice guy.)

I have an aftermarket in the car now, as it came to me. It's a foam grip and too small. The rosewood seemed huge, thin and the dish felt too deep.

This is all strickly opinion and personal feel but I'm moving closer to a Grant or a Budnik. I agree with the statement, you'll get use to it but I want something that feels "right" straight away. Maybe a 14 with a 2.5 dish, 3 inch circ.

Rick.

I just went to a show yester day and saw the GM 4 spoke wheels that were only offered on Cutlass'.

Those have a real nice thick padding. To bad GM didn't come up with that idea for the 3 spokes.

I'll just get a nice leather wrap on the rim and it will be fine
