hey guys, i looked at past talks on this in the archives and there seams to be a question on what fluid to use in conv. tops.
i've heard f-tranny fluid,dextron 3? what do i fill it with? thanks for any help.

It's a Chevy use Dextron. I don't think it really matters as long as it is a light oil.

Yes, any type of hydraulic (light) fliud will work. but ATF works very well. There is a fill hole in the pump reservoir. Fill the reservoir, leave the cap off and work the top a few times. Then refill and repeat untill all the air is out of the system (when it stops making that awful gurgling noise)

Hydraulic Jack Fluid works best.
DO NOT use tranny fluid as it bubbles therefore letting air in the system.

I would only use the dextron tranny fluid to be safe.
