Geezer Dec 3rd, 02, 01:04 PM I’ve never had any luck getting paint to stick on a steering wheel for any length of time… ------------------ Geezer ORENCH Dec 3rd, 02, 02:48 PM Hi Geezer, I redo my steering wheel, but to avoid scratches from usage, I covered the ring with a leather cover. It looks good to me, check it here, http://home.coqui.net/borench/wheel2.jpg ------------------ Our affair with Camaros is a live sentence without the possibility of parole. www.geocities.com/c68ss (http://www.geocities.com/c68ss) http://home.coqui.net/borench angelglo Dec 3rd, 02, 04:30 PM i glad you asked this question. on original colored steering wheels, were they painted or was dye used in the plastic? Unreal Dec 3rd, 02, 06:33 PM The wheel was molded with colored plastic. Never painted from the factory....probably for the same reason you can't get paint to stick to yours. 68L30 Dec 4th, 02, 12:30 PM I've always had good luck using a buzz can product from SEM(a plastic adheision promoter) primer. It goes on clear and you add a top color coat before the SEM is completly dry.Use light coats of color.Build them up slowly and remember to remove your ring/rings before driving.....
