View Full Version : 69 DASH PAD 69camaroralleygreen Mar 16th, 03, 06:07 PM i need a new dash pad whats the best one to buy thanks for any input! mike  69X11SS Mar 17th, 03, 03:37 AM The best dash pad you can get is an NOS one. Of course, if you can find one, you will pay an arm and a leg for it. I bought an OER dash pad. It fit and looked good. I have heard a few people that have not been satisfied with them. It is all a matter of personal opinion and preference. 1967 Panther Mar 18th, 03, 04:17 PM The 69's are nice..have you seen a 68 style?? YUCK! 69X11SS Mar 19th, 03, 04:04 AM I haven't seen the 68 OER pad. I take it you have and are not satisfied with the look. I know four guys here in town that have 68's. The first cruise-in of the season is on the 29th so I'll have to look at their dashes and ask if any of them are repros. CrossRamZ11 Mar 19th, 03, 07:04 AM I used the 69 pad from OER and it fit and looks great. kz1000ltd Mar 19th, 03, 08:55 AM My 69 dashpad from OER also looks and fits great! Unreal Mar 19th, 03, 11:04 AM My dash pad is from KevinW, and it looks and fits great:) KevinW Mar 19th, 03, 12:02 PM Very funny Gary! I just changed my mind, I am going to put the A/C in and I want the dash pad back! smile.gif If I had know about the dash pad back in 82, I would have bought more than just that one from GM. I need 2 regular ones now  Glad to hear you have it installed. Kevin 68rs406 Mar 19th, 03, 01:28 PM first repro part i bought for my '68 was a dash pad from classic. i just about crapped when i saw it. casting lines, pieces of flash that needed to be trimmed, floppy as a wet noodle. i was immediately on the phone to classic, asking what was wrong with this dash they just sent me. needless to say, they were less than helpful. i checked around and found what has been said here. 170$ or so for a decent (barely) pad from the repro place, or 300+ for just dashes to do it right. i went ahead and put it on, and decided to keep it, as i had other fish to fry (my 406) and didn't want to cough up the cash yet. i did keep my cracked original, for the future though. the fit wasn't great, but not horrible . the biggest complaint is the grain. i would bet that most people won't ever notice it, except for, me, and of course you guys ;) . mikestr Mar 19th, 03, 04:30 PM Originally posted by 69camaroralleygreen: i need a new dash pad whats the best one to buy thanks for any input! mike  Check out the pics from my signature, it is a reproduction....I like it and fit nicely.
