I was going to install a Autometer tach this past weekend. Installed it on the collar on the sterring coloum. Well, I learned something, that collar rotates. With that location out, where do I mount the tach?

can't you attach it on the portion that the key(assume 69) and turn signal lever are in?
Yenko installed them on the column of many of his cars, so you know it can be done.

I originally installed mine by hanging it from the screw that holds the dash pad in front of the dash vent. Worked well; didnt have to drill any holes and it was visible.

I have since put in a factory repo tach..

I mounted my small tach under the dash with one of the screws that hold the dash together. It is just below the radio and is visible. No drilling and the tach looks good there....
