Is the 160 MPH speedo from a 68 Firebird a direct fit to a 68 Camaro? Will it indicate the correct speed? If not what has to be changed to make it work properly? Just thinking after looking at my friend's parts car. I also have to check if it has the low fuel indicator lamp that my car has in the speedo, it was a pain in the neck to make it work and I don't wanna loose it.

The paint color on the face is different and is noticeable, it’s a bluish color instead of black without the center chrome ring. The paint color on the back may be different as well, I think Camaro used a green for the back light color and Firebird used a blue. It is a direct fit though, as for the low fuel light, just disassemble the housing and switch the plastic tube with the low fuel lens.

I compared both units later after posting and they look as you say, remarkably different to place it aside of the tach so no way. Thanks again for your valuable help.
