cut 3 fingers at work, to the bone.

blood every where, co-worker heard me swearing and quickly called my boss.

hospital or doctor? i hate hospitals, so the doctor it will be!.

doctor looked at it:" hmmm, thats deep!.
i couldnt even move 1 of those fingers.

muscle is damaged, go to hospital!

in hospital, :"hmmm, surgeon is on holiday, we will clean the wounds and stitch those fingers, come back on monday and they will cut that finger open again and repair that muscle"

so no working on the maro for couple of days/weeks :( , no welding course-lessons for couple of days/weeks :( and no work for couple of days/weeks/months :D

im trying to get drunk now before the pain starts.

will be my first time i get drunk btw :D
would 38% work?

Robert, your the knife sharpener, right??

Bummer dude. Reminds me of when I got hit in the chin by a chunk of steel and it split it open. Blood everywhere. Get to hospital and the doc is asking all kinds of dumb *** questions. Where did it happen? What were you doing? How big was the metal? Does it hurt?
I got pissed and said, "HEY, WHY DON'T YOU JUST SHUT UP & STITCH IT??? Jesus. graemlins/angry.gif
Then he got pissed and said get him out of here. He wouldn't do it!!
Went to a clinic instead. They looked at it, cleaned it, & stitched it.
Have you ever had a doc ask stupid questions while your writhing in pain? LOL

bummer robert keep it on ice.
I had a broken arm as a kid, the Dr. sorta twisted it and said 'does this hurt' ?? I think that was the first time I ever swore, I was 12 years old. graemlins/clonk.gif

Robert... hang-in there buddy! Glad to hear you didn't lose any fingers.

Woodworking is one of my hobbies so I've been "almost" there many times. Monday you'll be all fixed up!

Hopefully we can all learn from Robert's post and be super duper careful in everything we do.

Sorry to hear of the accident RR!! Try to relax on your time off and thank God you didn't lose a whole hand or something!! I was trimming baseboards on a "chop-saw" last year in the garage and leaned into the blade just for a second!!! I didn't hit the bone, but could have easily lost my left hand...Doc said I was very lucky and need to pay closer attention. Anyway, you'll be good as new in no time ;)

My first job out of high school was working in a slaughter house. I saw some things that would make a lot of people turn green! I also have a few scars to remind me of that time in my life. It paid $5.50 per hour, no benefits, 1 week a year vacation. Oh, and I was the top dog there also, supervisor of the boning room.

The only time I had to see the doc was when I stuck a boning knife through my hand. Talk about some arterial bleeding!!! After that I owned a pair of stainless mesh gloves.

Robert, Thank goodness you didn't lose your fingers! Good time to start reading up on future Camaro projects! My last goof was on Superbowl sunday, about 3 years ago, went out to get some kindling to start a fire in the fireplace. I put on some flip flops and walked over to my kindling pile...I stepped on a nail stuck to a piece of wood, went through the flip flops and almost all the way through my foot! blood everywhere! Guess where I spent my superbowl sunday? graemlins/sad.gif Ever get a painkilling shot in the bottom of the foot? they had to open the hole to make sure no rubber from the sandle got in there! I don't use flip flops anymore, and I make sure the nails are bent over from now on...Zuma... smile.gif

Ouch, that hurts, I've got a few scars from similar escapades. My favorite doctor experience was about a month ago, I had horrible gut pain, got my buddy to give me a ride to teh hospital, I stumbled in the doors while he went to go park, I got halfway to the check in booth and I fell over and couldn't get up, then captain obvious comes over and asks if I am alright, 30 mins later I see a doctor, 20 mins later I get a shot of pain killer, 3.5 hours later I am out of the hospital. What a performance, I am laying on the floor curled up into a ball, and they ask if I am alright??? Just makes me laugh now, wasn't at the time.

Wow that sucks! Did you clip a tendon? Keep that hand elevated on a couple of pillows at night, and try to keep it up in the daytime...it will help it feel some better. The hand surgeons nowadays are very good and should get you fixed right up...but you won't be using that hand for anything strenuous for some time.

graemlins/clonk.gif Boning room? Gross!
When I was younger I could dress a deer, now it makes me sick to think about it. Not sure why. :(

I posted this before about my pocketknife closing on my left hand second finger as I was cutting a piece of 1.375" dia. x 1/4" thick wall plastic gunning hose!!

I was at NUCOR Steel, Jewett, TX working on their reheat furnace at the time.

The Maint. Boss was standing above me like about 6 or so feet and looked down and said, casually, "Bet that hurts? I can take you in and have Joe stitch you up if you want?".

Well I went in AND that was what Joe said, (and he woulda done it with NO pain-killers at all). I thanked him and just put a canvass backed h/d band-aide on it for three or four days AND it was fine!!

I had to pry the blade outta the bone, too!!! BUT funny, I NEVER EVEN FELT IT!! Probably b/c my hands were like ICE due to it being cold at that time of the year...

Still have the knife b/c it's the one my buddy that lives south of B'ham gave me years ago so it's kinda like a keepsake OR I'd pitched it in a cussing rage!!

you had to pry it out of the bone?

you should have let a doctor cleaned that bone!
if not, there is a chance for infection of the bone, that means amputation!

VERRRRRY lucky!
