are there any company`s who make new carpet for 1st gen. not like the origional style carpet. I wanted to get a very good quality carpet.

The original carpet is Loop type and I would guess you want the plusher Cut-Pile stuff?
Check the carpet suppliers in Hemming Motor News for availablity, they will cut carpet for just about any application.

The loop is actually more duarable than the cut pile stuff..
