Does the side headliner windlace butt up against the top of the pillar post molding or go inder it? I'm trying to put these pieces back in and can't remember how it came apart. It seems like the windlace should butt up against the top of the pillar post, but my windlace is too long to do that. These are original parts that came off the car, so I know they fit at one time. Weird!
Thanks,
Marc

The side and front windlace goes under the pillar post molding on my '69. The side one goes under about an inch or so.
I can send you a picture if that would help any..

Yes, that would be great. My e-mail address is: mwh@uiuc.edu
I'm having a tough time getting the upper part fo the pillar post to fit properly with the windlace in the way. It would be nice to see how it fits on yours. Thanks!

Marc, sounds like you need to push the windlace into the headliner further, because the pillar post molding is already grooved in that area for the windlace thickness.

Sometimes I amaze myself at how dumb I am. I had the windlaces on the wrong sides. Once I swapped them, everything fit together much better!
Thanks everyone!
