I've been trying to find info on the company Pony Car Concepts. They're referenced in some old posts on the subject of shoulder belts for muscle cars.

I found out the company changed their name to Custom Accessories Mfg. Their phone is (800) 560-2358. They don't have a website yet, but I spoke to someone there and they sent me to the below link:

Don't freak out Ford haters! This high school gal and her brother installed the custom shoulder belts in the front and the rear of her coupe. Great pictures. Check it out. The company says they'll work in convertibles too.

Thanks for the info. I've been wanting to put a three point belt in my car for a while. I'm just not comfortable with only a lap belt.

Any idea how much these cost.

So ckaram what's the story with the name change??? Are they under indictment for selling faulty seatbelts or something.

You know, I didn't ask him. I'm kinda on the fence now.

I'm not positive any custom drilling will be "DOT" worthy. I'm leaning to Ssnake Oil to produce some repros for me that will bolt to the factory locations. May not be as pretty, but probably the safer bet.

There is no custom drilling with that company's belts, that's the whole point. They mount right up to the factory mounting points.

Hey withnail, no drilling except for convertibles. I have a ragtop. A pair of holes has to be drilled in the doorjambs for the front.

Regarding the rear shoulder belts, I'm not sure if I can use the factory location or not (in the trunk's wheelhouse brace). My guess is I'd have to drill for the rears as well.

Chris, don't drill any holes! The front belts go behind the top cover and attach to the forward most bolt on the top hinge.

Rick, Chris and I have been talking off thread and he may use the factory type belts (SSnake Oyl fab) I just didn't want him to drill any holes http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

Either way you have to drill holes or enlarge existing holes.

Here is an exact excerpt from the June 2001 Super Chevy. I hope it helps.

"The only modification necessary on the hardtop cars is that you have to enlarge the existing factory hole on the lapbelt D-ring bracket mounting location from 1/2-inch stock to accommodate the company's heavier duty, D-ring seatbelt mounting bracket. The headliner, plastic trim piece, and the D-ring itself cover any traces of the modification."

Kevin, I was only mentioning drilling holes if I went with custom belts. Everyone--no drilling is necessary when using factory belts!

By the way, Custom Autosounds purchased Pony Concept Cars, the company that was written up in Super Chevy and is quoted by JR. Their name change is not seat belt related. They now go by Custom Accessories Mfg or something like that.
