hi,
what is the diameter of the stock speedometer/tach in the dash of a 68 camaro? would a 3 1/8 " speedo and tach from autometer fit into the original dash?
what about the electric speedo vs mechanical ? wha&t about the brake warning lights and oil and the turn indicator when we upgrade the gauges ?

The diameter of stock gauges is just over 5 inches so I guess no they won't fit is the answer or at least not without a lot of work

There are a lot of people running autometer gauges in the 68's dash pods. www.pro-touring.com (http://www.pro-touring.com) has a lot of examples of this. I can't remember how they got the gauges to stay, but they are a pretty close fit, so robably only minimal fabrication is necessary, like a plate or something.

hey thanks.
Yes the Autometer ultra lite/phantom tach could do it, but the tach goes to 10000 RPM, i 'd like a 8000. Any idea where i could find it ?
