Does anyone know the proper location of a floor shifter (the horseshoe type) for a th350? The car looks like it had a floor shifter originaly but had a plate welded over the area when they changed to a column shift. I want to change back to a floor shift with a console. That shifter probably has to be in a pretty exact location so the console will fit over it, doesn't it? Thanks for any help ya'll can give me.

Tex, the location for sure has to be exact. Without the original tunnel metal, I think your best choice will be to lay the shifter on the floor, then bolt down the console and outer shifter surround. Locate the shifter so it fits, then mark it.

Do a search on floor shifter, it has been discussed many times in our forums.

Thanks for the info. I performed a search for "floor shifter" and found a response that had a link to a website that had a good picture with dimensions shown right on it. Thanks again...
