Think even cars like the Volkswagon Phaeton have more going for them. Not that I would buy one.

I would like it better if the Camaro was still around. I feel like GM dumped her for that car. Im still pissed that the Camaro is not around anymore graemlins/sad.gif

It's the perfect sleeper. Bland, blend in the crowd styling with a kick in the pants punch with the LS1 under the hood. I'd pull all the badging off the day it hit my driveway, some different wheels and a rearend gear change... You could mess with a lot of folks  and the guy in the late 90's Vette sure isn't gonna be happy!! graemlins/clonk.gif

So far, I'm not impressed, but I haven't seen one in person yet either.

seems a bit too pricey to me. i think the interior looks great and they got it right with the LS1, just don't think i would ever buy one. the camaro was the best bang for the buck out there. bring it back!!

Very uninspiring design. Externally looks too smooth and rounded. Could pass for Japanese design.

Internally and motor is neat with a lot of power. Overall I think they missed the boat. Look what Ford did with the new mustang, bring it a retro look. The GTO should have had similiar design going back to 60's.

How about giving Lutz some credit for bringing GM out of the coma?

The new GTO is admittedly badge-engineered but it was done in record time and represents a big step in the right direction for GM. So what happens? Everyone p&ms about it with Car and Driver leading the charge. If it does not sell don't look for GM to bother doing another HP rear-driver. Maybe even Lutz would come to that conclusion and spend more on 4-cylinder front drivers.

Volkswagen Pheaton? Those who blow $70,000 on a VW will soon learn what "accelerated depreciation" REALLY means.

The Camaro and Firebird were dropped because of low sales. Why build something no one buys?

Well said William... graemlins/beers.gif

Does anyone think folks didn't feel the orig GTO was just another Lemans back in the day? It sold because of the punch it packed...

I love the interior... I love the drivetrain... I love the exhaust not... I HATE the body.

They say 3 out of 4 ain't bad, but for the price of a new car I want it all!!!

I'm hoping 2007 will bring good things (and 2008 even better!)

I personally like the car , seems like GM is getting or trying to back into the HP wars with Ford and Chrysler, with the new Stang and Hemi re immerging the LS1 is a decent build platform so Hopefully we will see a major re-design of our Beloved Camaro in a couple years. As long as we Voice an Opinion maybe we will be heard,
It took ford what 4yrs to re-design the T-bird ?
but that was from Customers screaming at them

While the Manero, excuse me GTO (has been marketed for years in Australia under another name before offering it here as the "new" GTO) is a good looking and good performing car, it won't appeal to the masses at that price. Remember the original muscle cars were for the most part affordable for almost everyone, at different option levels of course. That isn't the case with the GTO. I can afford one, but I know many enthusiasts probably can't afford or justify one. I don't see myself running out and buying one though.

GM is falling behind by dropping the Camaro, their inability to commit to a light truck body style and building a 4700 pound SSR with 300 horses and considering it to be a performance vehicle. Come on GM you can do better than this. Bring back the Camaro. One thing GM marketing has done for me is to cause me to look elsewhere for my vehicle options. Used to be true to GM, but now I love my Explorer, Dodge Ram, 35th aniversary Mustang and yes my Grand Prix GT (when the Mexican electrical connectors GM uses in the Pontiac allow the windows to work and the key to work in the ignition switch). These are all cars and trucks I wouldn't have considered 7 or 8 years ago, but GM just isn't building what I want right now. I wish they did.
