i just joined,so if anyone has heard this question before,i apologize http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif.is there an easy way to fabricate 69 rally sport fender tabs or would it be easier to just buy one with the tabs?i had a little fender bender two months ago and decided to convert my 69 standard to a rally sport front end.i have one new rs fender i bought yesterday and my other standard fender is still undamaged.

Try a Camaro parts Supplier. I think they sell ones you can weld on.

Rick's has them for $22/side. I'd do that, before I attemptd to fabricate them.

Unless this is a brand new part that I have yet to see, they are only available for ’67 and ’68, not ’69.

I have only seen ones for the 67 and 67 as well. It could be a new part. I would try to fabricate tabs in any event. I purchased 69rs aftermarket fenders for my 69rs camaro and they have been an enormous pain in the neck. I went this route to try to save some welding (which I do not know how to do) and some body work since I am doing the car myself. Well, I ended up needing some welding and body work to boot on brand new fenders! However, after beating, banging and welding, they finally fit within toerances. Good Luck.

I believe you are right. I was looking at RS34 actuator support brackets. I see they list RS3 fender adapters for 67-68.

69nstyle - what welding did you need? I need to replace a rusted out fender on my RS and am going repro, most likely.

The bolt hole tab that mounts to the front of the firewall (it sits right behind where the hinges bolt on). This tab would not allow the fender to door gap to close because it was hitting the firewall. I cut about and 1/8" out and re-welded it back in place. It really wasn't that difficult but it was kind heart wrenching cutting and welding on brand new fenders! The other minor bending I had to do was on the top of the fender where it meets the windshield. The new ones didn't "arch" up enough to meet the windshield properly. Other than that, they fit pretty well. They just were not what I had expected. Let me know ifyou need any additional information. Good Luck.
