I believe the Holden has been sold Austrailia by GM for years.

Holden is the Aussie arm of GM. The Monaro is a car that they produce. They also have a Holden El Camino (under another name) that's a pretty cool car. But we'll probably never see them in the states.

you believe correctly. holden offers an LS1 coupe, sedan, and truck/car hybrid that is pretty much a new el camino. most gearhead magazines are hoping that they use this new platform for the camaro because it would be cheaper for GM, and we would get to keep a decent engine under the hood.
