Does anyone out there pour transmission fluid down the carburator to coat the exhaust and motor parts. I've heard it works really well. Would it not gum up the carburator and internal parts? thx Mike

I had some rings that wouldn't seat on a new engine. I was told that pouring a little tranny fluid in the plug holes and down the carb would help them seat. It might have helped a little... but I had bigger probs (enigne assembled wrong). Don't know why you'd want to coat your exhaust.

The reason for putting trans fluid down the carburator while the car is running is to prevent rusting in the exhaust. I guess??
