I have a 1969 SS Camaro with the RS front end. I bought it with a 396 big block in it. The tag on the firewall says it's an X-11 car. Did any of these come with the 396. I've been told by several people locally (who knew some history on the car), that it is an original big block car. It had all the 396 badges, and from the shape they were in, I would say they where original 69's. Any help?

An original big block SS would be an X22 (with style trim) or a X66 (w/o style trim). X11 could be a SS 350 (with style trim) but can also be a base car with style trim. Because style trim is part of the RS package a RS/SS 396 would be a X22.

I've got a 67 base coupe with the style trim option. Factory ss stripe, drip rail mouldings, 250 straight 6. The style trim group couldn't have been for RS only.

What DW said was style trim came with the RS option. He didn't say you could only get it with the RS option!! http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif

DjD, I seem to to be having a problem with people reading my posts incorrectly lately and then trying to slam me! I guess I don't word my posts very well or some people read so quickly trying to find something wrong so that they can disagree with it?

DW not the way you post them its the way we read them and fail to re-read them. Had I done that on the other post DjD would not have had to slap my hands with the ruler.

I think it's your gruff abrasive personality DW!!! http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif <--- means i'm kidding!!

The idea is not to prove someone else wrong, it's to gather the facts. I don't think whitey meant to fault DW by his comment.

We all get in a hurry and as that over sensitive Hawaiian guy http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif points out (still kidding) we all need to slow down and smell the tire smoke!! (I'm hurt!! You make me sound like a nun!! http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif )

I look forward to the next time you reply to someone DW. You are gonna be so cautious about every word!! In all honesty your posts read very well!
