CAN THIS BE DONE? cavemate Oct 19th, 01, 08:29 PM Absolutly! I made special casters for the body that are 2" higher than the frame. I unbolt the frame and simply roll the body back. Gary RobR Oct 19th, 01, 08:48 PM Are you thinking about leaving the front fenders and stuff on when you do this? If so, that might be hard to lift the body high enough to roll the subframe with engine out complete. ------------------ Rob Rice robr54@hotmail.com http://members.home.com/racrrob/camaro.htm kobuzz Oct 20th, 01, 04:42 AM I've done it before although I did remove the lower valance. Much easier that way. It's pretty scary having the car that far up in the air. whitey Oct 20th, 01, 10:44 AM I did this, but all front sheet metal was off. Iput a 2x4 on a floor jack under the body, unbolted the subframe and rolled the engine/trans/front end out. ------------------ currently restoring my '67, 327, T-10,3.73 10 bolt BigAL's71Z28 Oct 21st, 01, 01:02 PM I HAVE ENOUGH HEAD ROOM TO LIFT CAR UP TO CLEAR MOTOR, CAN I LIFT WERE THE FENDERS MOUNT TO THE FIRE WALL (TOP) DOG HOUSE TO BE LEFT ON CAR OR WOULD YOU REMOVE FRONT CLIP (DOG HOUSE)?THANKS FOR YOU REPLIES. |
