Can someone tell me if the oem fuel filter for a 396-325hp that is larger in diameter than the GM will fit in the fuel filter bracket?

I am a little confused by the way you worded your question. The AC Delco GF 432 is the external fuel filter that is needed for the 396/325. It will fit the bracket.

Does anyone know where to get this filter (AC Delco GF-432) for less than $30?

Also, does anyone have a part number for the same filter only without the return port?

No?..and...No???

The one Rick's sales in a AC 991 147. I guess this is what they use for a replacement. They also mention in their catalog that the diameter is larger than the original. Where can I get the AC GF-142?

Year one, Rick's, Ground-up, National Parts Depot...they all have it...but not for less than $30.

You are just going to have to do some legwork. I found mine by calling parts stores listed in the phonebook in my area.

Look for a dealer for AC Delco batteries. They also have the AC parts available.
