Hey I was wondering how you guys buy your car parts and find good prices. I wondered what search engines or websites you use to search auto classifieds. I'm looking for a 400 sb for my camaro and other parts and don't want to go through the bidding war on EBay. Thanks

There is a classifieds section on this board where you can post wanted or for sale items. Here is the link :

I usually do a lot of my shopping at swapmeets. Also check classifieds in your local paper & "Trader" type classifieds. You can also find many parts through networking--check with local car clubs & garages.
Good luck !

Powerplay,
You could also go down to your local machine shop and see if they have what you are looking for. Sometimes they have stuff laying around the shop that they are willing to sell or get rid of. They also may know someone that has what you are looking for. I found a matching pair of 041x cylinder heads that way once. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

Good luck for your search for a 400. They are getting very hard to find. There is a large engine recyler here in Dallas and even they don't get very many.

the junk yards in maryland have $hitloads of them, I see them all the time. I checked the castings last time I was there (few days Ago) and I found these two .
330817 (seems to be a 2 bolt but not sure what year) 3951509 (was definitly a 4 bolt. but I think it came out of a 72 pickup)I asked a guy about the 4 bolt, he told me 400 bux and its mine (complete)
