This is the right spot.

Give us some more info.

What shape is the body in, how much rust, how complete is it, what shape is the interior and driveline in, etc.

The car has a new trunk, all new subframe bushings, rearend installed and all front suspension, right now it is a roller,,no doors installed, the car as it sits is ready to be put back together,,,its missing a right front fender, but has all the glass, all new interior in boxes,a non matching 396 with a muncie 4 speed...basically the car is all there, just needs to be put together,I believe the rearend is just a pegleg, not sure of the gears...its my brothers car and he is looking to move it,because of financial problems...NO PAINT,just primer....any help will be appreciated...thanks

hard to say without seeing it, is there any paint at all on it, or is it just primed?

Unless the body is absolutely perfect and rust free, that price seems a little high to me.

IMO, something around the $4000. area would probably somewhat realistic.

Do you have any pictures that you can e-mail? I have access to several Camaro restorers beside myself. We should be able to give you a good idea what you should ask and what you could settle for. The sad reality is that you will rarely recover what you have invested. You will get more from an individual than you will from a dealer.

The sad thing is the whole is not worth the sum of the parts. I see cars with $15,000 in them sell for $8,000 all the time. I currently have about $25,000 in mine and could probably get about $18,000 for it but would take a while. Best way to avoid an all out family brawl is to put it in the paper and have a couple people come look at it and see what they offer. Prices they offer will be low, but that way your brother will get the initial shock out of the way and you can settle on a fair price somewhere between the offers and the retail price of the parts he has. Keep in mind that any labor cost he has in it is a sunk cost that he most likely will not recover. Best way to do it is look at all the costs to get it done then look at what you can just buy and start subtracting. Trying to get the best deal from your brother you can is usually ends up being a bad deal all the way around!!!

I bought my '68 Z/28 from my brother in 1977 for $800.00 after he got married. 20 years later, he wanted to buy it back for his 16 year old son............for $800.00.
