I purchaced a 69 Z28 this summer. I was told it was #s matching and has the protector plate. I purchaced it from the 3rd owner who had it for 20 years. I was convinced all was on the up and up. Today I pulled the trans and found that the arear where the floor was cut for the shifter looks like they used a jig saw or a sawz all to cut the floor pan. pretty rough cut. Makes me wonder if this was a factory cut or if someone did this sometime down the road. Always wondering if I really baught I I thought or not. Any thoughts?

I think that's common. My friend's numbers match 69 Z (Norwood)was the same. I wouldn't worry about the tunnel, but if you want to check originality, post the numbers in the tag team section, and someone will help.

Even at the factory these cars were cut open with what appears to be a flame cut.
