I am curious about all the advantages and disadvantages, I am missing out on. The reason I ask is I have the older version D-1 procharger. Yes, I would like to have a Self contained procharger. But, besides not having to punch a hole in my oil pan, what are the big disadvantages and advantages of both........?

i.e. what problems came about to come up with the Self Conatined supercharger vs. the old version?

Thanks...

The self-contained is a little quieter. There are no oil lines to run as you stated. But the reason I run it is due to the big air temp drop with the SC model. There's no hot engine oil running through the blower which heats the impeller and air. The process of compressing the air heats it up, you don't need any further heating from the oil. Scott at SD Concept Engineering has seen the air temp drop 180 degrees between the standard model and the SC. An intercooler helps negate a lot of the heated air but anytime you can get cooler air to the engine you'll get more power and less chance of detonation.
