I'll be getting around 3k this summer at my aunts bookstore and need to know what to do with it. half of it i'll save for gas and insurance, but what to do with the other 1,500 i think i'm gonna forget about paint and kepp it primered black. I'm plannig on getting an msd ingnition, but what else would be a good thing to look into? front dics brakes? need some advice on what to spend it on.

If you don't have them, power disk brakes first, then the engine. Of course if it were me I'd paint it. I really hate seeing bad looking projects going down the road.

Just kiddin, I'd say front disks first, and maybe upgrade the suspension. When finished... paint it nice.

I'd like to get it painted but i won't have enough to get a good paint job. thats why i want to keep it primered balck, it doesn't really look that bad. i mentioned the disc brakes to my step-dad and looked at me like i was crazy, but i thought it would be a good idea for discs before i start on the performance end.

I agree with the disk brake idea. Definately need to be able to stop before you should start making it faster. I would say get disks, then tighten up the suspension. Also don't want to stab the throttle and have the car throw itself into a ditch.
