They are only recommended for 400 hp and less though. http://www.vettebrakes.com/ Jody dthiel May 23rd, 02, 07:40 PM Try these guys as well for higher horsepower applications. www.landrumspring.com (http://www.landrumspring.com) ------------------ Doug Thiel 69SS 355/TH400/9" http://www.fbody.com/members/dthiel/DSC00130.JPG ohayden May 24th, 02, 07:36 AM Okay... nothings perfect... so what's the down side to fiberglass leafs? I'm sure they deteriorate, so what's the life expectancy? I guess the downside is the cost, and the fact that there is the potential for breakage, which could be nasty. A steel spring may get bent I suppose with enough power, but the 'glass leaf could break. novaderrik May 24th, 02, 05:31 PM the fiberglass can literally unravel itself if it gets a scratch in it. they are supposedly fine as long as they are unscratched. ------------------ 1971 Nova(looks like 69 camaro from underneath!) 355sb, vortec heads, HOT cam,T-10 tranny, 3.70 gears 16X8" IROC wheels. 12" Corvette brakes on the way. see pics here http://community.webshots.com/user/novaderrik ZZ430DropTop67RS May 24th, 02, 05:50 PM I'm using the Vette products fiberglass springs on my 67 and on the 70. When I put them on the 70, I had a muffler clamp cut a small groove in one of them at max suspension travel. Fibers were sticking out of the "injury". 9 years later, it hasn't unravelled or gotten any worse. I'd recommend them highly. ------------------ Don~ ZZ430DropTop (http://hometown.aol.com/zz430droptop67rs) ~~~~and~~~~ 70 RS/Z28 (http://hometown.aol.com/performancespecs) 67 RS/SS Convertible, 70 RS/Z28 |
