I have a 69 z wtih a dz 302. The oil fill cap is located on the passenger side front of the valve cover. The crossed flag emblem is located on the drivers side rear of the valve cover. Is this incorrect and if so what is correct, can I change it and how?

Just swap the valve covers. The oil fill should be on the driver side.

I agree with DJD, someone has put them on backwards. The Oil filler should be on the drivers side rear and the embblem on the passenger side front.
Check the engine shot on my signature. This car is a 30,000 mile original.
