Good idea or bad Idea? I can get it used for $65 or buy a new one for $150...The used one was used for a year and a half...its a 2400 stall...

The reason I'm considering a used one is because I talked to the guy at TCI and he said My engine and cam want a 3000 stall and my rear wants a 2600 stall and said to go with the 2600. I'm running 3.42's right now. I plan on switching up to 3.73's at least, in a few months and I'll have to get a bigger one later anyway...I dont' have the extra cash at the moment to do everything or I would...

I would want some sort of guarantee, chances are it's fine if it doesn't have a lot of miles on it and hasn't been abused. In any event, I would make sure it has been or gets flushed. Usually this requires drilling a hole (or draining from a plug if you're lucky) to drain the fluid. Then the converter is placed in a flusher that slowly rotates it while pumping filtered solvent through it.
