Will the hardware from a 69 RS work with a 68? They list as different part numbers but I have a guy telling me that they are the same. The RS/SS I bought has had a standard grill put in it so I can't even compare the brackets.

Thanks

There are a few parts that will interchange. I can tell you for sure that the vacum tank is diffrent as is the one way check valve and the headlight switch. The obvious as well (headlight doors etc.). Some parts that are not so obvious like the bell crank, mounts for the bell crank and brackets differ slightly. The actuator itself is the same.

I guess the parts I thinking of are the headlight pot or bracket and the arm that the door would mount on. I'm trying to determine if I bought a 68 RS grill (with doors), could I have the headlights mounted and the grill installed but open the doors manually. This would do for now until I buy the all of the vacuum equipment.

I just don't want to have to explain why my RS/SS has a standard grill and RS taillights etc...

I'm sorry if I'm not being very clear in the post.... I have a 68 RS with none of the mechanical parts for the headlight doors. A guy is telling me that they are the same from 68 to 69, just different grills.

I don't even really know how many parts are involved, but he says he has the headlight pots, arms that the doors mount on, maybe some others. He doesn't any of the vacuum components.

Will any of this work??

Thanks
Robb

One suggestion is to pick up a copy of the Classic Industries or other supplier's catalog. They normally have an exploded view of all of the RS parts and show which parts from 68 & 69 are interchangable.
