I just changed out my cast iron intake and Quadrajet for a Weiand Hi-rise aluminum intake and 750 Holley carb on my 67 small block.
Now my hood wont close!I went out and bought a triangle shaped open element, that wont work. The only thing I can get to fit is a little 6 inch breather, which is choking my motor.
Has anyone else ran into this? And if so did you have to cut the hood frame.Oh and yes I have also tried a dropped breather.
Thanks for any advice.

I would guess you bought the x-celerator or team g manifold. You should have gone with the stealth. The only advice I can give you're not going to like. Either get a different intake or buy a cowl hood.

Do you have a drop base air cleaner?

I run an Edelbrock Torker, and I can get a 2" air cleaner under my hood.

I have an x-celerator and Holley 750 on my 350 in the 69. I already had an original cowl hood. That combo fits under the hood nicely with the Weiand air cleaner. The x-celerator is too tall for the flat hood.

You should be ok with a Moroso drop base air filter housing. I had an Edelbrock Torker II (new style) on my car with a flat hood, the Moroso air filter housing and a 3 inch K&N filter. The Torker II is only a few thousanths of an inch shorter than the Weiand Team G.
