will a standard 350 flywheel work on the 400sbc or do I need a special one because of the external balance?
i have the one that came with the motor but it is for a manual and I am hooking it to a auto. I know there are two differnt sizes but I dont know which one I need. Is there
a way to tell, if so how? As far as I know it is a 74 but it is a two bolt

Yes you need one for a 400. Check with Northern Auto Parts, 1-800-831-0884, they sell B&M flexplates for $75.99. They're in Sioux City, Iowa.
