Interested in a cover for my 69. I have a tandem driveway and moving all the cars out of the way to pull the Camaro out of the garage is getting old. I'm looking for a cover that will hold up to L.A.'s strong sun, heat and morning dew. Any recommendations welcome and/or what to look for in a good out door cover.

I would recommend a Covercraft cover made with Kimbley-Clark's Technalon.

However, be forwarned, a cover left on in in a breeze tends to rub the paint. I had mine outside w/cover on and left some primer showing after three years use. Cover lasted four years.

I've had pretty good results with the California Car Covers, for inside storage, but wind/rain isn't their strong suit. The previous poster's recommendation sounds good.

Ditto the Technalon. It's not waterproof, but the car will dry, technalon does not trap the moisture

Chose a different route to cover one of my cars. Put up a 20 x 10 car cover shelter. Been up over 3 years and the top is still in good shape. Even hung a 4 foot shop light in the center of it (suspended on chains for an air gap). Think I paid around $130.00 from Sam's Club. Believe Harbor Freight also carries these.
Can't believe how much nicer it is to work on the car's without the SoCal sun beating on you. A little warmer in the valleys than the city. One of the best things I've done.

John you are lucky I have not had one of those shelters last over 2 years the sun just burns them up. I agree with the breathable cover choice they caust more but the cheap non breathable ones cause mildew and other assorted problems.

I ditto the Covercraft Technalon cover. I have one on my El Camino and my dad has 3 of them on his different vehicles. They are all custom made for your vehicle and they fit perfectly. They are nice and soft and you can brush up against the car without worrying. The covers are about $120-$190 or so depending, but I believe that the first gen Camaro covers are resonable.

I've had 3 of the Technalon covers for my Corvette. I stored it outside under the cover all summer and I kept my Camaro in the Garage. They last about 3 to 4 years apiece. After the second year they start to let the dust soak through with the moisture. I found you have to dust or hose down and chamois the car. They are great for Bird do and sap and things. When I sold the Vette after 12 years the guy could not believe the finish. I stored in inside under the cover in the winter. They are worth their weight in gold.
If you can get the one that is made for your car. They even have "ears" for the mirror.
I had a retractable antenae on the vette.
I had to unscrew my antenae on the Camaro to get the cover on, without cutting a hole.
