I have read quite a few posts on the insurance question, and ask this: Is a 67 Coupe that originally had a 6cyl in it that has been replaced by a 350 V8 considered stock? or is it modified? And additionally, my 19yr old son will be driving this car as well. Anyone else have a young driver driving and what did your insurance company say about that! BTW he has been driving since 16 without even a parking ticket.

When I signed up with them, we discussed my motor. I said it wasn't stock ( cam, headers, carb, etc ) and they were flexible. Said that as long as it was available at the time, it would be considered stock. They didn't want to hear about blowers, etc.

Basically it depends on the underwriting guidelines of the insurance company. Be sure to clarify it with them.
For example, Brian's 57 Plymouth is bone stock except we have changed the upholstery & paint color. We are moving to K&K Insurance & they have classified this car as a customized/modified car. Their "stock" classification basically refers to survivors only.
