I just bought this basket convertible. I have 2 rs fenders on the floor but that doesn't mean its an rs. Does anybody know how to tell for sure if this is an rs. Thanks, Jim.

Year and more info on the car. If its a 67 the trim tag will show if its an RS 68 and 69's nothing on the tag. More details will be needed to figure out just what it is.

What Year is it??
Are the Back up lights below the bumper and are the holes in the sheetmetal factory punched in and not cut in as homemde. Are there two small rubber plugs above on the inside of the trunk that have the wires for the rear lights going through them. On the innder side of the rear panel are the holes that the lights bolt to factory punched and not cut out by hand. On the front are the motors (67) still in place and the headlight doors still there attached to the radiator support? Look at your switch and see if it has extra wiring. Light switches for standard and RS models differ. If its a 68/69 are the vacum lines still in place. Look under the top of the raditor support. Is there a rubber gorment in the firewall for the RS equipment? Check to see what dise of the engine compartment is the washer bottle on RS models are reverse of standard models. Is there any RS equipment on the car itself such as a vacum cannister, actuators??

Good points Jeff. Also look for headlight washers that come from the extra solenoid on the washer pump.

Also look on the firewall, below the master cylinder brackets. All RS models had a factory punched hole approximately 3/4 to 1" diameter where the headlight wires or vacum hoses passed through the firewall. A 67 had a bung with the wires in it, a 68 had a grommet with two holes for the vacum lines. Also the rocker moldings were unique in that they were three piece designs and the center piece was mounted on the door instead of below it. You'll see the large holes if the door panels are removed for the mounting clips, many of these were filled if the car was repainted.
