Has anyone seen a torque and horsepower vs. rpm curve for a 302? I have searched and can not find one. Just curious.

I have a copy of one using the Cross-Ram and the First Design Off-Road cam. It shows the engine with a stock exhaust and then with headers. With headers it had a torque peak of just over 380 ft-lbs @ 5700 RPM and a HP peak of just under 460 HP @ 7200 RPM. -WHOA!!! http://www.camaros.net/forum/cool.gif

You might be able to get one from GM. If you give them your VIN, they send you a huge packet of information for your car ... free. In it is a whole bunch of specs on the various engines. I think there were curves, but I'd have to check to make sure.

I found all of the curves (from original sales literature supposedly) for all of the production engines (from Inline 6 to L78) online once. I really wish I had bookmarked that link.

Here is a link to year one on a 302 engine assembly, also John Z, if he reads this post, had some recent dyno pulls from a stock 302 to factory spec a few months back. I belive it was about 415 horse at 6800 rpm, not sure about the torque.

69 Z-28: Fathom Green, X33, DZ302, M21, 4.10 Posi, Chambered Exhaust.

I have the dyno sheets from a '68 302 built to NHRA-legal "E"-Stock specs (stock valvetrain, intake, carb, pistons, cam, etc.); pulls started at 5400, went to 7700. Peak power was 425hp @ 6800, only fell off to 419 @ 7700; don't know what peak torque was, but it was 360 lb-ft. @ 5400 and falling gradually (was 330 @ 6800, 285 @ 7700). At the factory rating point (5800) it had 353hp. This engine runs 10.99's @ 128mph in a 3300# '68 with an M-20 and 5.13 gears, and is #2 in the "E"-Stock points race so far this year; first gear is good for about ten feet, and it's turning 7800 through the lights. I don't recall ever seeing published full-range power and torque curves for a stock single 4-barrel Z/28 like this.
