I don't think mine are right, the #2 tube run straight at a 45* angle to collector area, makes it look like the mount would have to be on the front of the motor, got these 2nd hand but new.

boy it's seems it's starting to fall in a pile!!!! http://www.camaros.net/forum/mad.gif

well now! I tried to mock up the headers only too find the motor mount wont fit the frame mounts,I when the parts store to see another set of mount since I got mine 2nd hand. the bigblock mounts is the same as I have, how ever the small block mount fits perfect.I had bought the frame mounts from ricks and they were suposed to be GM big block frame mounts, now I guess I need to find my reciept......or maybe just call a tow truck! http://www.camaros.net/forum/frown.gif http://www.camaros.net/forum/mad.gif

does anyone know how to tell the frame mounts apart????

Check to see if they (frame mounts) are different heights? The taller one should be on the drivers side. Just a suggestion? If you want me to take a picture of my BB mounts in the car with no motor, just let me know? Mine are original GM mounts.

that would be great!
my problem is the frame mount seems to be to wide for eng mount to fit over(front of car to back of car)
arte the big block mount a little more narrow
could you get a measurement if is not to much trouble?
thanks!
I did find my reciept,I did order the BB mounts so maybe they just shipped the wrong ones or something....I hope http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

If you still need a picture of the headers, I will try and post one on my web site by Friday. I just got my 2" Supercomps back from Jet-Hot for my 509.

fastorange67,
I went out and measured the mounts and it looks to be 2 1/2" wide. When I get home tonite I will take pictures and send them to you.

hey i had same problem on a 70 chevelle i had, which has the same style mounts, i got some at big a auto and they would not fit, so i went to my napa and had them look in book and there is one exactely the same mount just 1/4 inch wider i will try to find number, also i sold chevelle without motor and i bought my bb frame mounts from ricks and the ones worked great that were 1/4 wider, but i couldn't return the others and those wouldn't work on my camaro fame mounts, i will get the napa numbers off the one that worked from me if you want, and i will give you the numbers off the ones that didn't work to see if thats what you got

The BB engine is offset to the pass side compared to the SB about a 1/2 inch

Fastorange67,
I can't seem to get camara to show clear detail. They are both 2 1/2" wide, drivers side is 3" tall and the passenger side is 2 1/2". Sorry, maybe if the sun would shine here I could get some natural light, It has all been painted with POR-15 and I can't get a clear picture that shows except black and the tape measure.

mine measure 2.580 wide, but didn't measure the height.I spent 2hrs. tonite putting in one spring aarrrggggg!
I must say I am not to thrilled with POR-15
seems to chip very easy and even peels off in long pieces, maybe I got a bad can ,I had to destroy the lid to get it off the can!

2 1/2 and 3 inches tall so that right,I've decided to drop the P/S some that should desolve any mount issues, still have'nt got the motor in to see if the headers fit or not,all the sups. is back together
I am going to try and have it together for O.C. in two weeks !
