This is non-Camaro, but GM related anyway. Does anyone know offhand if the column out of a 71 Fireturd will work in a 69 Nova?
The Nova had a column mounted shifter, and I'd like to swap the non-shifter 71 unit in its place. Even if I had to mix and match parts, is it possible?

Generally GM steering columns are interchangable. There are 2 critical areas to compare.

1: The rag joint connection. The Firebird has an extension shaft between the end of the column and the gearbox. It may be possible to use a '69 camaro tilt column joint here, But I'm not for sure on this. look it over closely.

2: The steering transmission lock lever. this may be bent, or a new lever welded on, or tied out of the way, if you don't want the security that this offers.
