Will a factory Hurst shifter from a '69 Camaro fit and work well in my '68 with console?

Should work, Make sure you get all of the donor parts, like the mounting plate, and shifter arms,
Other way is buy the coplete install kit from Hurst Shifters,

The problem comes from the tranny. The 68 and 69 tranny hookups are different. If you have a 69 tranny, go for it. If you have a 68 tranny, you need a 68 shifter setup. You will not be able to just bolt it on and go.

Sixty-eight and older had 5/16-18 studs on the shift fork exposed from the trans side plate.

Sixty-nine and newer are 3/8-16 threaded holes in the same place making the item a larger overall diameter, hence, a bigger slot in the shifter's shift arm to fit.
